About the Author
Susan Myhre Hayes
Susan believes the universe guided her career in directions that her lack of career planning didn’t. While she had successful careers in corporate philanthropy, public relations, and education, with an undergraduate degree in English and German Literature from St. Olaf College and a master’s degree in composition from the University of Minnesota, she always dreamed of authoring a great American novel.
She came late to writing. Her first book, Peace in the Puzzle: Becoming Your Intended Self, led to new career opportunities in speaking and coaching.
Her first novel, Making Up Stories, published in the 75th year, is the story of a mother and daughter’s relationship and how it evolves during the mother’s last week of life. It has been well received by readers and book clubs, who enjoy the lively discussions the book’s themes raise.
Susan and her husband live in Golden Valley, Minnesota, less than a mile from where they grew up. They are blessed with a wonderful son and daughter-in-law who live in Denver with their beloved grandchildren, Oliver, Eloise, and Mae, and an amazing daughter who lives in Minneapolis.
